Commission E Supports Extension of Study at Home for Students

This is not only a matter of teachers and students, but also of the community thus social distancing can run well,

The Jakarta Legislative Council's Commission E has agreed to the Education Agency's decision to extend study at home for elementary, junior high and high school students amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

According to Jhonny Simanjuntak, Secretary of Commission E, it also applies to all levels of society to implement government instructions regarding social distancing.

"Indeed this is a must so we understand. This is not only a matter of teachers and students, but also of the community thus social distancing can run well," he expressed, Thursday (3/26).

As for the cancellation of national exam, his party also supports it in accordance with a national decision of the Education and Culture Ministry.

"Teachers and students must obey the policy which aims to expedite the teaching and learning process, including national exam," he stated.

Based on the monitoring in the field, there are still students and citizens who break the rules.

"Therefore the city must instruct local RTs/RWs to hold a massive socialization to citizens not to leave the house, study at home, etc," he closed.
